Granite Countertops
Granite is a very durable surface, making it ideal for kitchen and bathroom counters. Granite is a scratch resistant material and is one of the hardest stones on the planet. It makes up 60% of the Earth's upper crust!
Granite Durability
Diamonds are used to cut and polish granite along with water to cool the blade. In addition to being hard, granite is also stain-resistant to hot grease and oil when sealed with a silicone-based impregnator.

Planning a Granite Kitchen Countertops Project

The kitchen is the heart of the home and shouldn't be taken lightly when remodeling it. As you may know, granite is by far the best counter surface on the market and adds warmth and value to your home. Preparation should also include sink placement as well as upgraded hardware.

Choosing the Right Sink

This is very important! Do not install a cheap overmount sink with your granite countertops. It not only looks tacky but will add difficulty to the cleaning process. Have an undermount stainless steel sink installed. These sinks usually cost four times more than overmount sinks but I will show you in the supply section how to get high quality ones at a deep discount.

Once you get a sink installed, it's important to choose the right faucet for the sink. A cheap faucet negates the effects of the rich granite countertops. Go with a nice stainless steel one. Just like the sink, I can also show you how to pick up this hardware at low prices.

Choosing the Right Hardware

Cabinet handles and knobs should be of high quality to complement the rest of the kitchen. Stick with the same color scheme. I recommend a silver or chrome color to match the stainless steel sink. The cabinets do not have to be perfect but with the right hardware, it'll make the kitchen shine.
