Granite Countertops
Granite is a very durable surface, making it ideal for kitchen and bathroom counters. Granite is a scratch resistant material and is one of the hardest stones on the planet. It makes up 60% of the Earth's upper crust!
Granite Durability
Diamonds are used to cut and polish granite along with water to cool the blade. In addition to being hard, granite is also stain-resistant to hot grease and oil when sealed with a silicone-based impregnator.

The Granite Counter Tops Planning Phase

Planning your granite counter top project is very easy! Do not overcomplicate the process. However, after you get a basic idea of how the process works, you should talk to a skilled granite fabricator so you know exactly what you're building. The first thing you will do is select a granite color. Granite tones are usually neutral but if a certain color goes well with your kitchen or bathrooms surroundings, use it.

Choosing the Right Granite Color

It is also recommended that you stick with the most popular colors because when you eventually sell your home, other people will like what they see. Templates of the most popular colors are listed below.

Please note that due to individual monitor settings, these colors may vary slightly from the actual material.

Diagram the Project

If you're replacing an old countertop or bathroom vanity with granite, diagram the measurements. Note everything in feet and inches. By preparing a simple diagram before a granite fabricator arrives, it shows the granite installer that you're an informed customer and you're likely to get a lower cost for installation.

If you're rebuilding a kitchen or getting a completely new vanity, measure room space available. Granite fabricators usually also handle vanity and cabinet installation so ask them what they recommend. Give them a basic idea of what you want but also the freedom to get what they need to make the project work. These installers are professionals so try not to overthink this process.
