Granite Countertops
Granite is a very durable surface, making it ideal for kitchen and bathroom counters. Granite is a scratch resistant material and is one of the hardest stones on the planet. It makes up 60% of the Earth's upper crust!
Granite Durability
Diamonds are used to cut and polish granite along with water to cool the blade. In addition to being hard, granite is also stain-resistant to hot grease and oil when sealed with a silicone-based impregnator.

Granite Counter Maintainence

After you have your new granite kitchen counters installed, you're going to need to upkeep them to make sure they continue to sparkle. I would not recommend harsh chemicals on it. Instead, clean your counters with a neutral, mild, vegetable oil-based cleaner such as our "Murphy's Oil Soap®." Synthetic scrubbing pads can be used on granite surfaces.

Cleaning Process

Make sure to keep grime and sand-like material off the countertops. This can be abrasive and damage the counters. It's not a tough process but it's common sense to keep them clean on a regular basis.

Granite Sanitation

I did not go on and on about all the benefits of granite on this web site but one of the major reasons it's the best countertop is because it reduces bacteria count. Regular cleaning can be done and your kitchen will always be safer than non-granite kitchens.

Other Cleaning Methods

There are many sealants and cleaners on the market for continued care of your granite countertops. We recommend that you clean them when needed but doing an extra cleaning with a special granite cleaner at least once a year. If treated properly, your granite countertops will last a life time!
